This poem was written in response to the feelings aroused by aspects of the Scottish countryside.
What does the poem make you feel?
… are you relaxed, or disturbed? …do you feel angry or sad? …what about the sound of the words? Do they create a picture in your mind?

I really enjoyed your interpretation of this poem. I found your recitation to be very calming and relaxing to listen to. This made me persevere with the poem and try to visual the images that were conveyed by the language. I also liked the way the poem was written and found that the alliterative phrases helped me create images in my mind more readily than some of the other phrases. I think I will remember this when I write some of my own stuff, it has helped a great deal…..well done.

I liked this poem! The sounds effects of the birds made me feel relaxed and calm. I had pictures of meadows on a spring day with rolling hills and puffy clouds.
